Welcome to the Hartford Area Humanists web site.
Hartford Area Humanists is a community for humanists, atheists, agnostic, freethinkers, skeptics and others in the area around Greater Hartford, Connecticut. We are a chapter of the American Humanist Association and a member of the Connecticut Coalition of Reason. We enjoy close ties with the local chapter of American Atheists, Connecticut Valley Atheists, as well as humanist discussion groups based at Unitarian-Universalist societies around Hartford.
Check out our meetup page for upcoming events. You can find out more about us and interact with us by following us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Hartford Area Humanists began as a series of dinner meetings organized by the Humanist Association of Connecticut before launching itself as a separate organization in April, 2013.
Humanism is a progressive philosophy of life that, without supernaturalism, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good of humanity.
